BrakeTech Cobra™ SS Stainless Steel Rotor

BrakeTech AXIS Cobra™ SS Stainless Steel Rotors are extreme-performance, full-floating brake rotors designed for demanding enthusiasts and racers alike. Manufactured in the USA, the Cobra SS combines BrakeTech's AXIS™ floating system with its optimized Cobra™ petal design and proprietary stainless steel construction to deliver lightweight performance, durability, thermal capacity, and consistent braking performance.

At the core of the Cobra SS is BrakeTech's Direct-Link™ load-transfer architecture. Unlike conventional floating rotor designs, the Direct-Link™ system provides more than an 800% increase in load-transfer surface area, helping distribute braking forces more effectively throughout the rotor assembly. The result is a strong, stable floating design engineered to perform under demanding street, track-day, and racing conditions.

The Cobra SS features an optimized petal design engineered to provide the performance characteristics of a round rotor while avoiding the compromises commonly associated with exaggerated wave-style rotor designs. The proprietary heat-treated 400-series stainless steel rotor blade is also subjected to BrakeTech's Hi-Tech Cryogenic treatment to improve wear resistance and durability while maximizing performance with modern high-friction brake pad compounds.

Built to BrakeTech Race-Spec with a 6 mm-thick, semi-narrow friction ring designed for high-performance race calipers. The increased thickness provides greater thermal capacity to help resist brake fade under extreme conditions, while the narrower friction surface reduces unnecessary rotating mass. The result is consistent braking, solid lever feel, and predictable performance under hard braking.
